The following steps have been taken to facilitate this site's accessibilty.
- All images have an alternate textual representation.
- All images have a title attribute, so browsers following the spec will have tooltips over images.
- The site is coded to valid XHTML and CSS.
- All navigation links, and most other links, have been assigned Access Keys.
- Tables are not used for layout, but only for showing tabular data.
- Images containing complex data include links to a detailed description of the data, using the 'longdesc' attribute.
- Where appropriate, images also have captions.
- No javascript is required for navigation, and I try to avoid it like the plague.
- No tests are made for specific browsers, so nobody will inadvertently get locked out due to their choice of browser.
- Pages are run through Bobby, with changes made if the reccommendations apply (very rarely), and make sense.
- All links contain a title attribute.
- Abbreviation and acronym tags are used where they make sense.
- A sitemap has been provided to facilitate navigation.
If you find any pages not conforming to the above after I have finished building this site, it's a bug.
Polite suggestions for improving this site's accessibilty are welcome.
